Anti-Taq antibody blocks Taq DNA polymerase activity at room temperature and is irreversibly released at initial denaturation, enabling antibody-mediated hot-start PCR. This prevents non-specific extension and primer-dimer formation, improving specificity and yield. It inhibits 99% of polymerase activity at 37°C, with no genomic DNA/RNA contamination and no DNase/RNase contamination from preparation or host cells. Widely used in PCR, qPCR, and Point-of-Care diagnostics.
