Background information
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an essential enzyme produced by Plasmodium species, the parasites responsible for malaria. Our range of LDH antibodies provides researchers with highly specific tools to target the four species that infect humans: Plasmodium falciparum (Pf), Plasmodium vivax (Pv), Plasmodium malariae (Pm), and Plasmodium ovale (Po). We offer a total of 19 antibodies, including 13 species-specific clones, such as LDHPf (e.g., #1H6, 1B7, 1G2) and LDHPm (e.g., #1B1, 2F7, 2C1), along with 6 common clones that recognize LDH across all four species (e.g., LDHPf-1E8, LDHPv-2D3). These antibodies are invaluable in immunoassays for detecting, differentiating, and studying Plasmodium infections, supporting both basic malaria research and the development of accurate diagnostic tools.
